Our Ducklings- March 2025

We were very excited to receive a special delivery of some duck eggs in March. The children enjoyed watching the eggs crack over the next few days before all the ducks fully hatched! We learnt how to care for them, fill up their water and food daily and clean them out. Our ladies showed us how to be gentle when holding them and when they got big enough, we set up a little water play for them to explore. We had so much fun looking after our new duckling friends!
It was so heartwarming to read about the ducklings arriving this March! There is something so special about children getting to watch that miracle of life up close; it reminds me of why I started my early childhood education journey in the first place. Lately, though, the pressure of my teaching certifications has been quite a lot to handle. Between long placement hours and endless paperwork, I actually found myself stressed to the point of thinking, "I need someone to take my exam," just so I could spend more time focusing on the practical, hands-on joy of working with the kids. Seeing these photos really cheered me up and reminded me that all the hard work will be worth it…
